| "Letters to God" - The movie will
be shown on Saturday, September 11, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Admission is
free, and popcorn and drinks will be available. This event introduces the
Discovery class's special Fall (September, October, November) quarter study.

| Haitian sponsorships -
Please sign the sheet in
the foyer if you want to sponsor a Haitian student or continue your present
sponsorship for the next year. The cost is $20.00 per month beginning in
September.

New church directory - We have begun
the process to have a new church directory published by
Lifetouch. The photography dates
for our families are reserved for Monday, August 30, through Friday,
September 3, from 3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday, September 4, from
9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. No pictures will be taken on Wednesday night. We
will need volunteers to help with scheduling the photography dates as well
as hosts/hostesses to greet the families during each session. More
information will be given later. Contact Margaret Hart or Darlene
Satterwhite if you can help make this directory a success. |

| WMA special study- Each Sunday at
5:00 p.m., our WMA will study “Thirty Life Principles,” by
Charles Stanley. All women are encouraged to attend; this study will meet
in the Old Fellowship Hall. This is a study to promote growth in knowledge
and understanding of God. See study schedule on the
Missions page. |
| Sermon on the Mount series - We
are studying the Sermon on the Mount, found in Matthew chapters 5, 6, and 7.
This study teaches what the character of a Christian should be. We meet at
5:00 p.m. each Sunday in the classroom just off the gym. |

Special Sunday
morning study Fall 2010 - The Discovery class, which meets each
Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m., and is open to all adults, will participate in
a special study "A Community of Hope," during the Fall (September, October,
November) 2010 quarter. See the News
page for study details and scripture references. |

Quilt for sale - The quilters have a
quilt for sale. Contact Eva Boone or Margaret Hart for information. The
cost is $150 which goes into the Missions Fund. |

Contributions for 2009 and 2010 -
Please sign the sheet in the foyer of either building if you want a record
of your tithes and offerings for 2009 for tax purposes. Also, remember:
If you will need a receipt for income tax
purposes for 2010, please put your tithes and offerings in an envelope with
your name on it. The envelopes are on the table at the back of the
sanctuary. You may also put all of your offerings in one envelope and
designate where you want your donation to be used.

AWANA news -
AWANA registration is Wednesday, September 1, the 2010-2011 club year calendar will
be posted as soon as it becomes available. Any updates will appear on the
AWANA page.
There is a meeting of AWANA workers scheduled for Wednesday, August
25, in the fellowship hall.
Registration for AWANA is Wednesday, September 1, 6:00
- 7:30 p.m. The 2010-2011 club year will begin Wednesday, September 15 at
6:50 p.m.
AWANA
needs workers for classes each Wednesday evening, September through May.
